A smooth adjustable bed installation is planned before the truck leaves the depot. Powered bases are heavy, access-sensitive and best checked while the installation team is still present.
One week before delivery
- Confirm date, arrival window and contact number.
- Reconfirm the exact base, mattress and accessories.
- Send updated photos of difficult access.
- Book apartment lifts or loading areas.
- Arrange removal of the old bed if included.
Clear the route
Measure the narrowest openings again and remove loose rugs, frames, lamps and breakables. Protect pets and children in another room. Delivery staff need safe turning space, not merely a path a person can squeeze through.
Prepare the bedroom
Clear the final footprint and working space around it. Identify the power point and avoid a layout that stretches cables across a walkway. Mark the head end and agree which side belongs to each partner.
Check the labels before assembly
Compare cartons and product labels with the written order. For split beds, verify both sides, mattresses, remotes and accessories. Raise questions before packaging is discarded.
What competent handover should include
- Assembly on a stable surface.
- Cable routing clear of moving parts.
- Testing every movement and side.
- Remote pairing and preset explanation.
- Emergency lowering or backup instructions.
- Warranty and service contact details.
Test the installed bed
Lie on each intended side, operate head and leg sections, return to flat and listen for contact with furniture. On hi-lo models, test the vertical range. Open nearby drawers and wardrobes while the bed is in place.
Inspect for transit damage
Look at upholstery, deck sections, mattress covers, legs and handsets. Note damage on delivery documents and photograph it. Follow the supplier’s process rather than attempting a repair.
Packaging and the old bed
Confirm whether removal is included. Do not assume an installer will take an old mattress or frame. If packaging must be retained during an initial period, learn how and where to store it.
Keep a handover pack
Save the invoice, serial-number photos, manuals, warranty terms and service contact. Add the installer’s name and installation date. Every regular user should practise returning the bed to flat.
After the first week
Check that legs remain stable, cables stay clear and bedding does not enter the mechanism. Report a persistent new sound, uneven movement or control problem promptly.
